Spiritual Trip to Nubri Monastery in Mystical Nepal

Buddhist monks at work
Course Dates: 25th May 2017, - 8th June 2017,

This is a once in a lifetime experience to be within the empowering energy of a Buddhist enthronement of a reincarnated Master.

Protected by the mountains of the Himalayas, and the blessings of the ancient ones, lies a small temple Serang Gonpa, also known as Nubri Monastery.

We have been invited by Nuptul and Karma Rinpoche to bring our group for a most auspicious time in the monastery’s history.

During the time of our visit, a young Rinpoche, just seven years old is being enthroned as the monastery’s lineage holder.

It is a time of great joy and celebration, ritual, and dharma dances. What an incredible spiritual blessing to be part of. Our journey will begin in the spiritual heart of Kathmandu. We will hang prayer flags at a sacred site under the guidance of an Ordained Monk and join people from around the world, doing Kora around the Great Stupa. There will be time to shop for beautiful items to enhance our spiritual practice, sample local cuisine, and enjoy Buddhist lectures at a local monastery.

You then have a choice of either a beautiful trek or personal time in Kathmandu before our journey to the Monastery. For trekkers, you will experience stunning views of the northern mountains of the Himalayas and hike through forests of pine and oak on a 3-day trek of the Kathmandu Valley. You’ll have a chance to see the oldest temple of the valley, visit a village of the Tamang ethnic people, stay in local tea houses, and much more. If you prefer to stay in Kathmandu, you can enjoy Buddhist lectures and a rare chance for spiritual reflection.

We then all regroup and prepare for our exciting journey into the Himalayas. We helicopter to the monastery. This is a thrilling, safe and beautiful flight, which gives us a feeling for the magnificence of the Himalayas; nothing can prepare you for the sight of a 500-year-old Monastery hidden in the mountains. We are invited to participate in all the ceremonies in the temple leading up to the enthronement. There are activities day and night that we can flow in and out of, depending on our desire.

It is difficult to describe the joy, peace and deep-seated sense of well-being that will infuse us during our stay there. These rituals help embed happiness into the very core of our being. At the conclusion of the festivities we will helicopter back to Kathmandu for our completion dinner and a fond farewell to the friends we made during this most remarkable pilgrimage.
